Giada is the founder of AFLWO architecture and a certified ICF coach.

Born in Italy, after studying in Genoa, Paris and London, she worked in London and Lausanne and collaborated with teams around the world as architect in leadership positions. After years of personal development studies and interest on the subject, she decided to start the training and became a certified coach in 2021.

She lives and works in Switzerland since 2011. Giada speaks English, French and Italian.

With over 18 years experience in the international architectural industry, Giada has a deep understanding of the challenges of complex working environments in the creative professional world.

She spent many years of her career chasing unrealistic deadlines and trying to reconcile her professional and personal lives. In the end, like many professionals, she also let herself get carried away by the daily struggles and ended up missing her purpose in what she was doing and started questioning herself.

Today, also thanks to coaching, she sees that experience as a revelation, an opportunity that allowed her to question herself and that professional world and to take control of her career and life. Moreover, she gained perspective and built understanding on companies' common mistakes or issues that can deteriorate, not only the efficiency and quality of their work, but, most important, the well-being of their team.

Giada accompanies professionals, and in particular creative professionals, on their way to the life they aspire to, but they struggle to believe it does exist.

By combining her double role of coach and architect, she gives them the opportunity to fall in love with their professional life again and to achieve a fulfilled professional and personal life.

As a coach, she offers the specific techniques of the profession, as well as guidance, empathy and trust.

As an architect, her creativity, management techniques and vision allow her to know how to help transforming challenges into opportunities and how to move from theory to practice in order to achieve the client's goal.

In 2023 she started collaborating as Associate Coach with BetterUp.

WHY AFLOW COACHING-LAB ?

I'm well aware of going against a well established harmful culture - from Universities to offices of any scale - to which individuals think they must fit-in to progress in their career. I find this against the values that should drive any profession, especially creative professions. I'm not expecting to change what it's too established and powerful to be changed quickly. However, I believe that helping individuals is a first step for a cultural change, and this is my goal and my small contribution to, hopefully, an healthier professional culture.

Beyond my technical and professional skills, what inspired me to create coaching-lab has been my own personal journey. An experience that it's surely familiar to many creative professionals around the globe.

We live chasing, running. We aim higher, faster. It’s never enough. We’re never enough. We want to “fit-in”, to be accepted.

The result? By adapting and changing ourselves to be accepted, we end up to first put aside ourselves, then to forget about ourselves.

All this, without realising that:

  1. We lie to ourselves: we want to convince us of what we don’t actually believe

  2. We lie to others: showing someone who's not the real us. We play a role.

Why do we believe it is so impossible to live a (professional and personal) satisfying life? That we can't change it? Why do we believe that there's only one way - the one we've been told about - to do things?

My goal is to help my peers discover that achieving their own goals and changing their lives is not just for the others, neither it is about luck. It’s about motivation, confidence and vision, all qualities well known to creative professionals, but that can end up being hidden over time.

I guide my clients rediscover these qualities and help them design a life that they can feel in charge of, whether on a professional or personal level (or both).
